Vines Mag – Bartier Bros 2016 Semillon

Semillon in the Okanagan remains a rarity, yet this one is one of winemaker Michael Bartier’s flagship wines. It is precise and racy as expected, but unlike the ageworthy stile made famous in the Hunter Balley, Australia, is ready to drink upon release. Aromas of straw flowers, lime, beeswax and pink grapefruit are tightly woven with mineral notes. It has just a kiss of sweetness to pop the fruit on the palate; honeyed and zesty it has excellent concentration and a long lip-smacking finish. A prefect partner for seafood, ramen noodles or pour alongside fresh summer salads.
