Product Profile Sheet 750ml
Damilano is one of the historical Barolo producing farms, founded over a century ago by Guiseppe Borgogno. The tradition was kept up by his son-in-law Giacomo Damilano and with his children, until it was passed on to his four grandchildren, who very attentively manage their forefathers’ land today. The wines are renowned for their upright style and the estate is widely appreciated due to the strictness and passion that accompany all of the company’s activities. The vineyards are situated in the most famous crus of the Langa region: Cannubi, Liste, Fossati and Brunate, which are almost entirely cultivated with Nebbiolo da Barolo.
“This is a wine I highly recommend especially for those who can’t resist the beautiful taste of Nebbiolo in a more informal dining scenario (like around the kitchen table with family and friends). The 2012 Barolo Lecinquevigne sees fruit sourced from five vineyard sites, and all that mixing and matching gives the winemakers more flexibility for achieving quality. For this reason, Lecinquevigne has shown impressive quality over the years. The wine is redolent of wild berry, cola, licorice and soft spice.” Monica Larner ~ June 2016
