The main assets of Cusumano include 140 hectares of family vineyards set in specific, diverse areas according to microclimatic conditions throughout Sicily; the constant study of the soil aimed at finding the best varieties to be chosen for their specific features; and the continuous research from grape growing to winemaking area. Knowledge of the soils, the constant monitoring of the vines, and the appropriate balance between production and cultivation are always taken into account. Alberto and Diego Cusumano have spearheaded a renaissance in Sicilian wines, garnering international interest in the unique wines from this region.
The Benuara IGT is a unique blend of Nero d’Avola and Syrah grapes sourced from the Cusumano estate vineyards located in the Pachino (Ragusa) area of south-eastern Sicily. This wine is medium to fullbodied with a bouquet of wild fruits. Loads of strawberry jam aromas and flavours are evident throughout. Not thick or overdone, this wine shows very good structure and length, with polished tannins and an ultra-fruity aftertaste.
