Jean-Luc’s dream of winemaking became a reality in the early 1980s when he acquired his first vineyard, a granite hill planted with old Syrah vines overlooking the village of Cornas. Hence the first vintage of the Cornas “Les Ruchets” (1987), which became the flagship wine of the Jean-Luc Colombo wines. With a long stride, the vineyard grows and Jean-Luc can finally fully live his passion for wine by relying on a few solid principles: respect for nature and the different terroirs.
Cape Bleue Rosé comes from the stony, limestone (Calcaire) vineyards nestled in the hills above the bay of Marseille (the area next to Provence). The influence of the sea, sun and lake provides for hot days and cool nights – ideal for grape growing.
Tasting Notes
Soft, delicate salmon pink color. On the nose, subtle hints of peach, rose petal, watermelon, and tropical fruit. The palate shows dry, round, and full finesse with notes of fresh berries. A great rosé to enjoy on its own or with a wide range of appetizers, fish, poultry dishes and vegetarian fare.
