Jean-Luc’s dream of winemaking became a reality in the early 1980s when he acquired his first vineyard, a granite hill planted with old Syrah vines overlooking the village of Cornas. Hence the first vintage of the Cornas “Les Ruchets” (1987), which became the flagship wine of the Jean-Luc Colombo wines. With a long stride, the vineyard grows and Jean-Luc can finally fully live his passion for wine by relying on a few solid principles: respect for nature and the different terroirs.
Grapes are hand-harvested and de-stemmed. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Aged in 1-year-old oak (50% new) on the lees for one year. Weekly stirring of lees followed by malolactic fermentation.
Tasting Notes
A ripe and forward style, with creamy apricot, yellow apple and melon flavors, lined with an anise twinge through the finish. A lovely display of fruit.

Condrieu Amour de Dieu 2017 | Aromas of toast, vanilla, preserved peach and caramel are heady here, lending flair to orange cream and honey on the palate. It’s rich and unctuous, silky in texture, but fringed by pleasing bitters. A beauty already, it should evolve positively through 2027.
