Jean-Luc’s dream of winemaking became a reality in the early 1980s when he acquired his first vineyard, a granite hill planted with old Syrah vines overlooking the village of Cornas. Hence the first vintage of the Cornas “Les Ruchets” (1987), which became the flagship wine of the Jean-Luc Colombo wines. With a long stride, the vineyard grows and Jean-Luc can finally fully live his passion for wine by relying on a few solid principles: respect for nature and the different terroirs.
Hermitage has an ideal left-bank site with optimal sun exposure while also being sheltered from the Mistral winds. “Le Rouet” (the name of a picturesque cove near Marseilles) lends itself to this majestic wine of purity, finesse and pedigree.
Tasting Notes
Deep red color. A nose full of finesse and purity of red fruit, chocolate and spices dominating. On the palate, an elegant and well balanced wine with focused redcurrant, red cherry, and cloves. Good structure and a long finish. A classic Hermitage to be enjoyed with game or roast meats.

Le Rouet Hermitage Rouge 2014 | Has a mature hint, with light bay leaf, cocoa powder and roasted cedar notes emerging from the core, while lightly steeped plum and blackberry fruit follows close behind. Offers a loamy edge to the finish, with the cocoa element lingering longest. Best from 2018 through 2024. 100 cases made.
