Jean-Luc’s dream of winemaking became a reality in the early 1980s when he acquired his first vineyard, a granite hill planted with old Syrah vines overlooking the village of Cornas. Hence the first vintage of the Cornas “Les Ruchets” (1987), which became the flagship wine of the Jean-Luc Colombo wines. With a long stride, the vineyard grows and Jean-Luc can finally fully live his passion for wine by relying on a few solid principles: respect for nature and the different terroirs.
Tasting Notes
Offers some lovely ripeness, with blueberry compote, plum sauce and melted licorice notes gliding together seamlessly, offset deftly by a hint of chalk that lengthens the finish. A pleasant whiff of tobacco lurks in the background. A wonderful effort for the vintage.
