FEUDI DI SAN GREGORIO
Feudi di San Gregorio, a symbol of today’s rebirth of fine wine from the south of Italy, is dedicated to the rediscovery of the unique flavours of the Mediterranean. The crusade began in the mid-80’s with the idea of rewriting the history of winemaking in the Irpinia region. The concept was to invest in a real future for the great wines of the South by upholding local traditions and developing their latent potential to take a fresh look at Campania and her native grape varieties: Aglianico, Fiano, Greco and Falanghina. Feudi di San Gregorio has come to represent the growing reputation of the wines of Irpinia. Ancient ties have been reinforced by a new interpretation of the potential of Italy’s south. The will and resources of two local families, united by a single passion, has breathed new life into this land. These are modern wines with an ancient soul. They are authentic, with the traditional values maintained through modern technology and impeccable quality standards.
“The 2010 Aglianico Rubrato is a bit more restrained and structured than the Lacryma Christi Rosso, but just as compelling. Dark red cherries, mint licorice, spices and scorched earth meld together in the glass. This is another intense and pedigreed red from Feudi.” – Antonio Galloni, February 27th, 2013
